Course Description:
This course is designed to take the beginner through the fundamental commands and actions in ArchiCAD to provide knowledge of the processes involved in constructing a 'Virtual Building' model. During the process of creating the model, document management and the project workflow will also be considered, ultimately leading to the development of final 2d documentation - including information exchange with 3rd parties.

- constructing a 3d virtual building model
- detailed modeling techniques
- extracting 2d documentation from the virtual building
- elevations, sections, interior elevations, 3d documents, worksheets and details
- introduction to the 2d tools
- detailed 2d techniques
- creating custom line types and fill patterns
- introduction to drawing layouts
- managing revision information within documentation
- electronic data import / export
The following items will also be discussed, although it is not possible to create a fully customised template as this would require additional time.
- creating ArchiCAD templates including document layout masters
- making use of xref (external reference to dwg / dxf) and modules
- introduction to teamwork within ArchiCAD
