Installing the ArchiCAD Goodies Add-ons
ArchiCAD's core functionality can be extended with additional small applications (add-ons). Standard ArchiCAD add-ons, like StairMaker and most of the import/export functionalities (I/O), are delivered to you by Graphisoft. Additional add-ons are available in the "Goodies" folder of your ArchiCAD package, for use "as is."
To install the “Goodies”, simply locate the Goodies folder within the ArchiCAD X folder and move it in to the Add-Ons Folder as shown below:

The next time ArchiCAD is started, all the Goodies will be available for use.
The “Goodies” available with ArchiCAD 9 are:
- 3DStudio In
- Check Duplicates Tool
- DXF-DWG 2K In-Out
- Intersections in Combos
- Mesh To Roof Tool
- Profiler
- RAL Colour System
The following is a brief description of the ArchiCAD 9 Goodies:
3DStudio In
This ArchiCAD Add-On can convert 3D Studio (.3ds) files to ArchiCAD GDL objects. The conversion process can be customized by the user.
Check Duplicates Tool
This ArchiCAD Add-On can find, select or delete items sharing the same parameters (type, color, thickness, height, etc...) and occupying the same spot on the floor plan. Unwanted doubles are typically created by either accidentally double-clicking at the same mouse position or by copying and pasting items several times to the same location.
DXF-DWG 2K In-Out
This allows ArchiCAD 9 users access to the DXF-DWG Translators that were available in ArchiCAD 8.1 (AutoCAD 12 to AutoCAD 2000 formats).
Intersections in Combos
As a result of this ArchiCAD Add-On, layer combinations will emulate the visibility-based intersection cleanup logic of earlier ArchiCAD versions.
Mesh To Roof Tool
Irregular "free-form" shapes can be modeled using the mesh tool. The selected mesh object(s) can be transformed into grouped individual roof planes.
Profiler
The Profiler Add-On allows you to create Object type Library Parts by extruding a profile along a straight or curved path.
RAL Colour System
RAL Colour Standards are developed and controlled by the German Institute of Quality Assurance and Trademark Control. The 194 classical shades (RAL 840-HR) and the new RAL Design System with its 1688 colours are both well known in a number of industries, including building materials and cosmetics.
